Mid Main First Thursday - Benefiting the Houston Art Car Parade

Eat, drink, and shop for a cause!

Head down to the hottest block in Houston - Mid Main! The "First Thursday" at Mid Main on May 3rd will be a preview of the Houston Art Car Parade and a fun evening to come shop for a good cause! 5% of sales in many of the boutiques, restaurants and bars along the block will be donated to the Orange Show to help run the Houston Art Car Parade.

Here's what's going on:

Natachee’s Supper N Punch will host several Art Cars in the Yard to help raise money benefitting the Orange Show’s annual Art Car Parade - (being held this year for the 25th time in a row, Saturday May 12th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. ) Brought to you by Natachee’s Supper N Punch, Blues for Two, featuring Houston Blues Legends PeeWee Stevens and Pops Stewart will play outside on stage from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Eat, Shop, Rock and drink in Mid Main’s Natachee’s, Tacos-a-go go, and The Continental Club, all of whom are generously donating 5% of their sales that afternoon to the Orange Show to help keep the Houston Art Car Parade free for the people!

Shop Judy Masliyah’s My Flaming Heart for all cool and unusual objects, including folk art, vintage accessories, handmade jewelry, western boots and custom clothes. Judy is featuring artist Sandra Mendez on First Thursday, and will also offer 5% of proceeds during the event to the Orange Show.

Sig’s Lagoon, Midtown’s only record store, is busting at the seams with the massive collection of vinyl records just delivered from Sundance Records, which sadly closed last month after 35 years of legendary times in San Marcos, Texas. Sig’s Lagoon continues to show its love and support of the Art Car Parade and will donate 5% sales of all posters, vintage jewelry, books and bobbleheads during the event to the Orange Show.

Kat’s Meow and Big Kats barber shop and salon are sponsoring entertainment for the event, featuring Big E spinning vinyl for the block. Kat’s Meow will also have a “bang bar” for those needing a trim, offering complimentary bang trims between 6pm to 10 pm.

From the creators of the December 2011 Holiday Bizarre, the Mid Main Market, will open in the Shop-O-Rama space from 5 pm to 10 pm featuring various vintage clothing, handmade jewelry, accessories and original artwork.

Double Trouble Caffeine and Cocktails is mixing a special concoction for the event, which will also benefit the Art Car Parade.

Recently opened, Tango Cielo is offering free Argentine Tango dance basics by Indre- A class for a complete beginner from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m, no partner necessary! Stay after the class to practice what you’ve learned at Thursday Night “Lone Star Practica” from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. for only $15 per couple and 5% of those proceed will benefit the art car parade as well!! GoodPop is also participating in the event and will donate 5% of their sales on the Natachee's lawn to the Orange Show. GoodPop All-Natural Frozen Pops are made with only the finest all-natural and organic ingredients and nothing artificial, ever!

Real Ale Brewery is a proud sponsor of the event, offering free, cold, craft beer made right here in Blanco, Texas in all shop spaces between 5 pm to 10 pm.
