Due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19, and the restrictions put in place by the City of Houston and Harris County, the Board of Directors of the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art has decided to cancel the 2020 Houston Art Car Parade. This will include all events associated with Houston Art Car Parade Weekend scheduled to take place April 16-19, including the Main Street Drag, the Sneak Peek at Saint Arnold Brewing Company, The Legendary Art Car Ball, The VIPit Experience, and the Houston Art Car Parade Awards Ceremony.

A message from Orange Show Founder & Chairman Marilyn Oshman:
"While cancelling this year’s events was a difficult decision, we remain absolutely committed to supporting and highlighting this unique and exciting form of art. To that end, plans are already underway for a city-wide Art Car Festival to take place this summer, featuring many of the incredible Art Cars that would have participated in this year’s parade."

The event’s date and location will be announced in the near future.

The Orange Show has already spent a great deal of money in preparing for this year’s parade and humbly ask that you consider converting your Legendary Art Car Ball ticket purchase into a tax-deductible contribution.  Even a partial contribution would help us significantly.  If you can’t, we completely understand and will issue you a partial or full refund of your ticket. Please email oranges@orangeshow.org to let us know.

In closing, we know that this is very disappointing news. Our board and staff are very disappointed as well.  We are looking forward to doing a one of a kind special event for you, the artists, and the city this summer, and working towards to a wonderful Houston Art Car Parade Weekend in 2021.

Best regards and stay healthy,

Ten Eyck Swackhamer
